Working with the old technique familiar from icon-making and other
religious art – applying paint, lacquer and leaves of gold and silver on
wood – Franziska von Woyski depicts cityscapes of steel and glass. Gold
and silver praise the beauty that may be found in everyday urban
environments. The urban iconography of Franziska von Woyski is
contrasted by the enigmatic paintings of Klaus von Woyski and the
jewellery of Augusta Opfermann.
